DGA “Steady” Ed Memorial Discs

The Father of Disc Golf and the Inventor of the Modern Day Frisbee.
In Memory of “Steady” Ed Headrick: June 28, 1924 — August 12, 2002.
It was “Steady” Ed’s wish that once he passed away his ashes be incorporated into discs so that his soul could fly freely. “Steady” Ed loved the Disc Golf and Frisbee® community and wished them to have his discs.
All proceeds from the sale of “Steady” Ed Memorial Discs go to the nonprofit “Steady” Ed Memorial Fund, raising money to support “The Ed Headrick Memorial Museum”, home to the Disc Golf Hall of Fame, showcasing many historical items from the early days of our sport at the PDGA International Disc Golf Center at Wildwood Park, Appling Georgia.
“Steady” Ed Headrick Limited Last Flight Memorial Disc Golf Diver and Putter Set
To make the Memorial #001 Driver and Putter, Ed's Ashes were incorporated into the XL™ and APX™ molds designed by Discraft with a special elite plastic.
The XL™ is one of the farthest flying discs ever made. *Hugely popular with new players. *Easy to control, it holds an almost perfect line on big throws. *Former world distance record holder of 693 feet.
The APX™ is known as a superior straight flying disc with a great controlled flight.
The normal elite plastic allows for consistent release on crucial drives, it's just tacky enough for perfect grip, and sticky enough to grab the chains. These XL™ discs have an extra special blend elite plastic.
Created by Ed’s good friend Sharon Kinzie, the disc's graphics are color stamped using graphics that Ed chose before he flew on. The ColorMax™ process allows high-resolution color artwork prints for these unique discs.
